OS X unable to start wingide

WingIDE - User mailing list

Version: 6.0.6-1 (rev d2cfd7be2952)

The wingide no longer start from OSX application launcher this morning.

OSX will display message:

You can’t open the application “WingIDE” because it is not responding.

However, if I start it from terminal, everything seems fine.

Anyone know how to fix it?

-Rui

Can you try opening from the command line as follows?

/Applications/WingIDE.app/Contents/Resources/wing

The path may differ if you installed it someone other than /Applications

The details of command line usage are at
http://wingware.com/doc/install/command-line-usage

We've had some other reports of possibly an OS X update breaking launch
of Wing and are looking into it.  We may also email again with other
questions.

Thanks,

Re: OS X unable to start wingide

Just to follow up on this -- rebooting seems to have solved the problem.
Somehow macOS got confused after Wing needed to be terminated via
force quit.  We'll look into why Wing got into a state where it needed
to be terminated via force quit.

Cheers,

John

Re: OS X unable to start wingide

WingIDE - User mailing list
So, I encountered something similar recently and discovered the CLI
approach.  When I fixed it, there was a complaint about a lockfile,
perhaps that bit will help with diagnosis.

Best,

coyot

Have you checked in Task Manager if a process of wingide is running?

Did you reboot and the problem persists?

Cheers
